Join us now to do purposeful work with our diverse and respectful team.<br><br><strong>Job Title: </strong>Licensed Practical Nurse<br><br><strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong>Provides direct patient care, meeting both psychological and physical needs of the patients in accordance with their care plan, regulatory agency and departmental guidelines. Maintains standards of nursing care, under the supervision of registered nursing personnel, in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Nursing Department and regulatory agencies. Provides work direction to Certified Nursing Assistants.<br><br><strong>Essential Job Functions<br><br></strong><ul><li> Performs nursing care for assigned patients/residents per established department guidelines, policies and procedures.</li><li> Handles admissions, discharges and transfers of assigned residents/patients.</li><li> Shares responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans and nursing care.</li><li> Performs documentation according to established standards and procedures.</li><li> Prepares, administers, and concisely, accurately, and completely records medications in accordance with the policy regarding the administration of medications.</li><li> Receives, transcribes and carries out physicians’ orders.</li><li> Oversees and assists with meal service.</li><li> Oversees, assists and guides the work of CNAs in the daily activities.</li><li> Provides coaching to CNA’s and participates in the annual performance appraisal process.</li><li> Assists in the orientation of new personnel when requested.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education<br><br></strong><strong>Job Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li> High School Diploma or equivalent</li><li> Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing<br><br></li></ul><strong>Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li> Experience in a long-term care/skilled nursing facility environment preferred<br><br></li></ul><strong>Licenses/Certifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Current LPN license by the Florida State Board of Nursing</li><li> Current American Heart Association BLS Certification</li><li> IV Certification preferred<br><br></li></ul><strong>Abilities Required<br><br></strong><ul><li> Knowledge of long term care / skilled nursing facility environment</li><li> Computer literacy</li><li> Self-directing.
