  1. General

The Part-time MIA Passenger Service Agent plays a key role in supporting daily flight operations at Miami International Airport. This position is based at MIA and requires the candidate to be local to the area. The role requires 20-30 hours of work per week in 4-hour shifts. The Passenger Service Agent will assist with all aspects of passenger services, ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience.

  1. Duties and Responsibilities
    • Greet passengers and verify their tickets and passports against the passenger list using computerized systems.
    • Ask security-related questions, allocate seats, and distribute boarding passes and luggage tags.
  • Weigh passenger luggage and charge additional fees for overweight items as needed.
  • Guide passengers through security and departure procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Provide accurate flight information and direct passengers to the appropriate departure gates.
  • Handle issues related to delayed, canceled, or missed flights, assisting passengers with rebooking or alternative arrangements.
  • Check boarding passes at the departure gate to ensure correct boarding.
  • Assist passengers requiring special support, including unaccompanied minors, by escorting them to and from flight gates.
  • Make timely announcements over the public address system regarding flight information and updates.
  • Oversee the departure and arrival process for passengers, ensuring compliance with all company policies, legal requirements, and regulations.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing passenger needs and inquiries promptly.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support the overall operation.

  1. Qualification Requirements
    • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
    • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
    • Basic computer skills are required.
    • Must successfully pass all pre-employment testing, including drug screening and a physical examination.
    • Ability to safely lift up to 70 lbs.
    • Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
    • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
  • The role may involve handling long queues and high traffic periods.
  • The position may require both desk-based tasks and mobility around the airport.
  • A uniform is required to be worn as part of the role.
