<p><strong>Capex Estimator - Renewable Energy & Industrial Projects (Chicago, IL)</strong></p><p>We're looking for a <strong>Capex Estimator</strong> to join a global leader in clean energy solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong cost estimating and budget management experience to contribute to utility-scale renewable energy projects and other large infrastructure developments.</p><p>If you're a <strong>self-starter</strong> with a solid background in <strong>electrical or civil construction</strong>, and have worked on <strong>full-cycle projects</strong> from concept to completion, we want to hear from you!</p><ul><li><strong>Work Environment:</strong> Downtown Chicago office with coffee, snacks, and fitness center access</li><li><strong>Hybrid Schedule:</strong> 3 days in-office, 2 days remote + early Fridays (3 p.m. cut-off)</li></ul><p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare conceptual and detailed cost estimates for wind, solar, transmission, and industrial projects.</li><li>Work across <strong>multiple cost categories and budgets</strong>, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.</li><li>Analyze project plans, perform quantity take-offs, and assess contractor/subcontractor proposals.</li><li>Track and report on <strong>market trends</strong> including materials, labor, and commodity pricing.</li><li>Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to validate pricing and scope.</li><li>Support bid processes and RFP development.</li><li>Assist during construction phases with cost control, change order evaluation, and budget tracking.</li></ul><p><strong>What You Bring:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.</li><li><strong>Minimum 5 years of experience</strong> in cost estimating, with at least <strong>1-2 years completing full-cycle projects</strong>.</li><li>Experience working with <strong>actual pricing data</strong> and cost control processes.</li><li>Familiarity with <strong>commercial estimating tools</strong> (e.g., Timberline/SageCRE, QuickBid, RSMeans).</li><li>Strong understanding of construction methods and market dynamics.</li><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.</li><li>Experience in <strong>utility-scale renewable energy</strong> is a plus, but we also welcome candidates from <strong>O&G electrical</strong> or <strong>industrial construction</strong> backgrounds.</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience is a bonus.</li><li>Willingness to travel 10-20% (domestic/international).</li><li>Valid driver's license; Spanish fluency is a plus.</li></ul><p> <br></p><p><strong>EOE Statement: </strong>Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
