Description The Quality Review Specialist (QRS) is primarily responsible for the communication and satisfaction of servicing internal and external clients. The single most important aspect for success as a QRS is to leverage their industry knowledge to provide proactive and responsive communication with MAP Colleagues. They must directly communicate with team members across the organization, utilizing Teams messaging, phone calls, virtual meetings and/or email. They will engage in active communication, setting clear and detailed expectations with colleagues and Directors as an essential skill. The QRS is responsible for reviewing the quality of client and annual valuations, government forms, correction calculations, providing technical assistance to MAP Colleagues, and assisting leadership as needed. This position will strive to ensure internal and external clients have high-quality experience interacting with the firm. QRS is responsible for excellence in the areas of Annual Valuation, Compliance/testing, Internal Revenue Code, ERISA law while building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams. May participate in projects as assigned. Key Responsibilities Authority - Ensure client annual compliance package and valuations are accurate and returned. - Ensure reviewed work is compliant according to federal regulations and completed based on MAP’s Quality Standards. - Work with Directors of Account Management and Training with ongoing improvements and/or efficiency with operational workflow within the Quality Review Team. - Serve as a contact for internal colleagues which includes timely responses to all inquiries, via Teams phone/virtual and/or email, as necessary. Responsibility / Accountability - A QRS must have experience in Qualified Retirement Plan administration including all aspects of administration, compliance testing and regulatory forms. - Ensure internal colleagues receive the proper service regarding inquiries, valuations, plan documents and compliance through appropriate management. - Increase & maintain industry knowledge of Internal Revenue Code (IRC), ERISA, and other relevant laws by attending webinars, virtual training, certifications and/or obtaining designations as presented by either direct manager or senior leadership. - Attend and actively participate in all team and direct manager meetings. Principle Processing - Maintain and demonstrate a high product standard of reviewed work to ensure client and colleague satisfaction. - Review 8-10 annual valuations per day for accuracy of census, reconciliation, compliance testing, regulatory filings, late deposit corrections and proper documentation completed based on MAP’s standard processes. - Review QDRO’s assigned. - Identify and return inaccurate valuations to the preparer. - Coordinate with client-facing team members to address issues of plan qualification, fiduciary responsibility or other plan regulatory issues. - Advise when corrective Plan Amendments are needed. - Respond to and assist with inquiries and escalated issues from team members covering plan qualification, fiduciary responsibility, regulatory issues, plan establishment, merger, spin-offs, plan provisions, plan terminations and compliance corrections. - Escalate review items to the team manager, if necessary. - Collaborate with QR Team and Compliance Manager to identify consistent errors where additional training would be beneficial for the QR Team, as well as other departments. - Deliver assigned work and projects within deadlines meeting or exceeding expectations. - The Quality Review Specialist must be a good communicator, display a positive ‘can do’ attitude, be patient, muti-task and work well on both routine and non-route activities.
