Senior Software Engineer Location: United States Job Description: Peloton Interactive, Inc. seeks Senior Software Engineer in New York City, NY Job Duties: Cultivate a deep understanding of Peloton’s ecommerce platform while working on a cross-functional agile team, collaborating closely with other engineers and product managers to build, integrate, and evolve key components. Collaborate with Product Management and Development teams to gather and refine requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Define and prioritize the technical roadmap, aligning it with business goals and strategic objectives. Monitor progress and adjust plans to address any roadblocks or changes in priorities. Conduct technical design reviews to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and performant. Lead and participate in code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices. Design, implement, and optimize frontend and platform components to meet strict performance, availability, and scalability requirements for high-traffic ecommerce pages. Implement frontend performance optimization strategies (including bundle-size reduction, caching strategies, and Core Web Vitals improvements) and collaborate with backend and infrastructure teams to ensure efficient delivery. Build and maintain tooling and automation to enable rapid creation of content-driven landing pages and dynamic experiences that support organic traffic and SEO initiatives. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows. Implement containerization and orchestration practices to support reliable deployments and rollbacks. Implement and maintain observability, monitoring, logging and alerting systems to ensure operational visibility and uptime. Mentor and onboard new engineers, lead technical training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities, and participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies. Collect and analyze data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in the ecommerce platform. Ensure that new features integrate seamlessly with existing systems and comply with security and performance standards. Create and maintain sandbox or staging environments for testing and integration of microservices and frontend modules. Telecommuting is an option.   Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in an occupation in a related field. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable.   Special Skill Requirements: 1. At least four (4) years of experience with JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript developing production web applications, including state management and performance optimization. 2. At least three (3) years of experience with React.js, including at least one (1) year of experience with Next.js, using server-side rendering (SSR) and/or static site generation (SSG) in production environments. 3. At least two (2) years of experience in frontend performance optimization, including bundle-size reduction, caching strategies, and improving Core Web Vitals such as First Contentful Paint (FCP), Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), and Time to Interactive (TTI). 4. At least two (2) years of experience implementing modular or microfrontend-based frontend architectures integrated with backend services.   5. At least two (2) years of experience designing, implementing, or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, including tools such as GitHub Actions or comparable technologies. 6. At least two (2) years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, and experience with deployment orchestration tools such as Argo CD or similar platforms. 7. At least two (2) years of experience implementing or supporting monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (e.g., Datadog or comparable platforms) to support application reliability and uptime. 8. At least two (2) years of experience integrating or developing with Headless CMS platforms and building content-driven tooling to support dynamic landing pages or similar content experiences. 9.
