<p>The Staff CI/CD Engineer is pivotal in transforming our CI/CD landscape to enhance developer efficiency across the organization. You will architect, develop, and operate high-performance CI/CD pipelines that align with our mission to provide an unparalleled development environment, driving innovation and stability for our large-scale applications.</p> <p>This role is based in our San Francisco office with an<a href="https://theworkback.com/reuniting-teams/"> office-centric hybrid</a> schedule. Along with most Asanas, you’ll work from this office in person on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays. If you're interviewing for this role, your Talent Acquisition Partner will share more about the in-office requirements. </p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines that support both continuous integration and deployment, ensuring world-class build, test, and release processes.</li> <li>Architect automated deployment frameworks that facilitate zero-downtime releases and rapid iteration cycles for our software products.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Security, Infrastructure and Product teams, to integrate advanced automated testing and robust reporting systems, enhancing our CI/CD workflows.</li> <li>Mentor fellow engineers in best practices for CI/CD, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.</li> <li>Spearhead multi-quarter strategic initiatives, improving CI/CD infrastructure reliability, scalability, and performance.</li> <li>Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in CI/CD and DevOps, recommending and implementing improvements to our systems. Be a force multiplier by integrating AI tooling into the development lifecycle at Asana. </li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with significant experience focused on CI/CD in large-scale environments.</li> <li>Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing distributed systems and reliable infrastructure.</li> <li>A deep understanding of CI/CD tools and processes, with hands-on experience using platforms like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent. </li> <li>Proficient in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, and familiar with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform. Proven experience working with AI tooling and integrations (eg: Claude, Cursor, MCP servers).</li> <li>Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and container orchestration systems like Kubernetes.</li> <li>Strong advocate for developer productivity with a proven track record of building efficient, scalable CI/CD pipelines.</li> <li>Excellent leadership and mentorship skills, with a collaborative and innovative mindset.</li> <li>Experience working in fast-paced, agile development environments.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proficiency with managing build systems and frameworks for large monorepos. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit. </p> <p>For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $248,000 - $282,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.</p> <p>In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits.
