Careers<br><br>Student Internship, Washington, DC<br><br>Washington, DC<br><br>Americas Society/Council of the Americas (AS/COA) seeks a summer graduate student intern for the Washington, DC office to focus on policy research for internal and external projects and programs support. Interns must have a strong interest and background in Latin America through professional experience or study. Our interns have unique exposure to the policy dialogue in Washington, DC among business, community, and government leaders and are able to contribute to this dialogue by helping to organize and execute the meetings and forums led by the AS/COA Washington, DC team.<br><br><strong>Principal Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Assisting in conducting research and note-taking on private and public policy meetings and programs on Latin America.</li><li>Attending outside virtual and in-person events on International business and foreign policy on behalf of the Council of the Americas. </li><li>Generating reports and queries as well as facilitating maintenance of organization databases.</li><li>Supporting the coordination of meetings and programs</li><li>Writing briefing papers on relevant topics for programs.</li><li>Assisting with outreach for public and private programs and providing logistical support.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Time requirement<br><br></strong><ul><li>15–20 hours per week, minimum three-month commitment. Students must be able to receive university credit for this internship.</li><li>Flexibility to cover programs that take place early morning or evening a plus.</li><li>Must be able to work in-person for at least two full days.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>At least one semester of graduate school.</li><li>Excellent English writing skills.</li><li>Strong written and spoken Spanish, Portuguese a plus.</li><li>Exceptional research skills.</li><li>Facility with databases.</li><li>Must be detail-oriented.</li><li>Ability to work on a variety of projects and prioritize.</li><li>Curiosity and an eagerness to contribute to a dynamic team environment.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Application submission</strong>: Please send your resume and cover letter to Maria Despradel, mdespradel@as-coa.org (link sends email) .<br><br>Our employees are currently working a hybrid schedule each week, working three days in the office and two days remotely.
