<p>Nemours is seeking a <strong>temporary HIM Abstractor</strong>! This position is responsible for verifying & digitally categorizing documents into the electronic medical records via a variety of applications/systems to assure that clinical information is accurate and available for patient care in a timely manner.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ol><li>Analyze and classify documents within the document management system. </li><li>Index documents into the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR) as digital formats, for ease of storage, retrieval, and use. This position may be directed to process historical/acquisition documents/records or work in the Extract clerical icon as needed. </li><li>Maintain a 99% accuracy rate and 95% productivity rate. </li><li>Create encounters in the EMR system as per policy and procedure as needed to consistently locate patient documentation.</li><li>Demonstrate a working knowledge of the HIM policies and reliable methods governing the verification process.</li><li>Validating the authenticity of legal documents.</li><li>Utilizing advanced technology to eliminate printing and redundancy of documents.</li><li>Apply critical thinking skills, exhibit strong independent judgment, and research skills. Able to assess complex problems, overcome challenges, and adapt to changes.</li><li>Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.</li></ol><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma required</li><li>Keyboarding and 10-key data entry skills </li><li>RHIA/RHIT preferred</li></ul><p> </p><p><span class="cf0">#LI-SE1</span></p> <br><p style="margin:0in 0in 0in 42pt">Nemours Children's Health is an internationally recognized pediatric health system serving more than 1.7 million patient encounters each year.
