This role supports the purchasing and estimating process by assisting with materials, labor procurement, pricing, and vendor coordination to ensure our homes are built efficiently and cost-effectively.

Summary

As a Purchasing Agent for ARIVA Homes, you will work closely with the Purchasing Manager and operations team to support purchasing activities for residential and commercial construction projects. You will assist in maintaining pricing, preparing purchase orders, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and ensuring accuracy in budgets and estimates. This role plays a key part in supporting our mission to create beautifully engaging communities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with project purchasing activities across multiple construction projects.

  • Support budget preparation, material take-offs, estimating plans, and related documentation.

  • Help review and track costs for ongoing projects.

  • Assist in bidding architectural plans to subcontractors and vendors.

  • Support purchasing of materials and coordination with suppliers.

  • Prepare and maintain purchase orders (POs) and construction start packages (EPOs).

  • Maintain pricing, plans, options, and purchasing databases.

  • Assist with Custom Option Request pricing within established timelines.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of standard Scopes of Work (SOW).

  • Monitor material and labor cost changes and report variances.

  • Assist in maintaining price agreements and vendor relationships.

  • Support improvements in PO accuracy and house estimates.

  • Provide pricing information and technical support to the sales department as needed.

  • Communicate with field personnel and trade partners to resolve discrepancies.

  • Assist with rebate programs and documentation.

  • Visit active jobsites as needed to verify material quantities against budgets.

  • Participate in production and operations meetings as requested.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • May be required to work extended hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on deadlines.

  • Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, estimating, construction, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Proficiency with computer systems and purchasing/estimating software.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
