POSITION TITLE: Personal Service Representative

REPORTS TO: Assistant Branch Manager

SUPERVISES: No

JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB GRADE 8: Starting pay rate for this position is $20 hourly.

*This position works on-site. Remote work is not available at this time.


JOB SUMMARY:

This employee will serve as liaison between the member and the credit union and is responsible
for providing account information, opening new accounts, and professionally handling members'
daily credit union needs. This employee may also possibly handle all types of requests for new
loans.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent the credit union to the members in a courteous and professional manner and
provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
• Accurately performs all teller functions including, but not limited to, deposits withdrawals,
transfers, payments, processing of night deposit and mail transactions, cash advances,
and issuance of official checks.
• Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Set up new account files and provide
members with all necessary information for membership.
• Cross sell deposit, loan and automated services to members and complete all
necessary paperwork, and system file maintenance necessary to complete the
transaction.
• Cross sell, interview and process all types of loan applications for members.
• Complete all verifications and documents needed for loans and follow up as needed or
necessary i.e., title work.
• Performs all other assigned duties.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary

• Must me a self-starter and be able to work independently
• Must be able to adapt to change
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and positive attitude toward the staff, Members and general
public.

Travel will be required

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited high school or have the equivalent of a high school
diploma (G.E.D. certificate). General Requirements:

• Works in a safety conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in
order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace.
• Adheres to policy on Drug Free Workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment and be able to type.
  • Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude toward the members and general public.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, some standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, lifting, grasping and fine hand coordination. Visual and aural acuity required.
  • Finger and hand dexterity required.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds maximum, with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Requires ability to remain calm under stressful situations.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
